Have you Ever Googled Yourself?

Come on, you know you've done it. Have you ever typed your name into the Google Search Engine to see what comes up. Well, today I was driving from the airport to the hotel and I heard the DJ ask if you've ever Googled yourself. So I typed my name in to Google to see what came up. The first thing that came up was a recipe for a Grateful Dead. The drink I enjoyed so well while at Sacred Heart University. The second thing that came up was a web page from Saint Anselm College when I was the webmaster. I would have thought that those were all toast but not so. One page remains with my name and Ken's. Actually all the pictures from the first football game in Saint Anselm History after 40 something years remains intact. Then I took out the E. from my name and came up with some other hits. The first one was my race results form the Newman 5K back when I could run a 5K. (That will soon be changing however, as my training begins with the start of July). I finished 188th in that race. Meghan Healey came in 107th. The last search I did was for Drew Bennett, which came up with a ton of stuff for the Titans football player. So I added & North Attleboro to the search and got a listing and picture from my 10 year HS reunion. So go ahead and Google yourself. See what happens. If you find an instersting link for yourself, add it to the comments for this post.

Sara's Wedding

Yesterday my friend Lindsay's sister, Sara, got married. Sara was kind enough to invite my parents, Drew and me. It was a lovely ceremony in the backyard with family and friends. Lin was the Maid of Honor and as a gift to the bride, sang their wedding song, Have You Ever Been In Love. It was a beautiful moment.

Maybe when Drew gets back from Baltimore I can get him to upload a picture of the bride and groom!

(Your Wish is my command, and before I get home too.)

Fisher Cats Game - Mo makes the Blog!

Yesterday Allison and I along with her parents (Marcia and Dan) and her brother Nate and his girlfriend Sarah, and Allison's friend Jess and her husband Eric went to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Game. And of course our friend Maureen, a.k.a Mo also came to the game with us. In her own words, "I better make the Blog!" So yes Maureen you have made the Blog and with photos to prove it! The stadium, (Gill Stadium in Manchester) is really nice now with all the renovations. The field is also very nice. We sat in the bleachers on the first base line. We had the last 9 seats in the far back of the bleachers, which were occupied when we arrived so we sat in some unoccupied seats. Once the people arrived and claimed their seats we moved up to our seat. A big bru-ha-ha (sp) with the "Usher" (read "Bouncer wannabe", and if you have ever heard Ron White talk about bouncers well this would be that sort of guy.). Actually there was no real bru-ha-ha it was just that the "Usher" was an unpleasant, power hungry, sort that we instantly disliked. I have to say at this point that we Allison and I really miss hanging out with Maureen and yesterday we were very glad to spend time with her.

As for the game the Fisher Cats ended up pulling off a win. Jess and Erik had to leave early but were almost tempted to stick around for S'mores (more on that further down). It was nice to spend time talking with Jess and Erik as well.

After the game Allison and I went home with Dan and Marcia while Sarah and Nate came back to the house as well. We finished up the Coronas that we had for the pre-game cook-out on Dan's new grill. We had big juicy burgers and Johnsonville Brats that were soaked in Guinness and chopped onions. We also had Ken come by before the game for the BBQ. It was nice to see Ken and hear the good news that he is done with the NE-10. Good luck Ken.

So back to the post game activities. For post game we sat on the back porch at Dan and Marcia's and finished the Coronas, dug into the Bud Lights and had 11:30pm Burgers. We also had fun with the Chimnea. The S'mores were cooked on the Chimnea. Allison was the master S'mores chef. We had a great day yesterday and were very happy to spend it with family and friends. Oh and there are pictures....

New Toy

I was impulsive yesterday and picked up a new toy. I got an HP 245 photo printer. This printer prints without a computer (via memory cards). This thing runs like a champ and has some great software to use to make 4X6 prints. I printed some photos for my sister Shelby from a wedding that she was i. Some photos had red eye and the software took it right out, color balanced everything and printed some sharp little images. And the paper is sweet too, it has this little perforation tab that you can remove and print out borderless 4X6 prints. So maybe I'll get around to actually printing some of the photos I have taken from the various weddings and events I have been to. But I promise nothing. My follow through needs some work.

Goodbye Snackboy

On May 13, 2004 Terry Crummitt passed away tragically in a car crash in Maryland. Who is Terry Crummitt you may ask? Terry was otherwise known as Snackboy. Snackboy was a short 5 minute internet show that happened daily from Terry's bedroom. He would turn the camera on and record 5 minute stories about his life and adventures. They we sometimes long and rambling do so often funny and entertaining. He would draw little pictures to hold up during his stories too, and they were also very funny. There is a memorial on the internet to Terry at www.thesync.com, there are some of Terry's best shows and a posting of testimonials from fans. The world will not know the greatness that he could have achieved and I am so upset to find that he is gone. Terry had started getting roles in TV and movies and would probably someday be a very fine comedic actor had the tragedy not occurred. Snackboy will be missed.

Box Seats

Last night Erin and Bart took Allison and I out to dinner at Box Seats. If you haven't been to Box Seats then you are missing out on a treat. This place is packed with sports memorabilia, good food and plenty of it. You start out with complimentary soup and bread. The soup flavor changes daily and I've rarely been back to have the same soup again, so it constantly changes. Then they have a 2-4-Tuesday event where 13 items on the menu can be purchased at $13.99 for two, this includes soup and bread, salad, and dessert. You can't beat it.

After dinner Allison made biscuits and fresh strawberries and blueberries, with whipped cream. A very tasty dessert.

Thanks Erin and Bart for such a great evening filled with laughter and interesting stories. We had a great time.

Airline Hell

this is an audio post - click to play

And on top of the 3 hour delay, some baggage handler stole some vodka nips from my bag. (A gift from the hotel). Man I was pissed when I got home, not so much about what was taken but that my suitcase was opened and anything was disturbed. I'm sick of not being able to lock my suitcase and have it open to every jerk in the entire airline to rifle through.

Thank God I only have one more trip planned for a long while.

The Results Are In

Yes, the results of my Cholesterol test came yesterday... I have brought my Cholesterol down to 235 - that's 42 points below my results for last year and a whopping SEVENTY Points less than when I was first tested two years ago (305 baby!! Only 7 points lower than my mom's when she was first tested!).

So that is the exciting news from North Attleboro, but I'm so happy that I had to share!

Back to BWI

Good morning, I'm about to head off to BWI for the week. One of the last 2 (I hope) that I'll have to go there. Still waiting around to hear some good news but we shall see. I'll let you know the news as soon as I do.

Spent the weekend at the Cape. We were able to get Allison's bed down and we are that much closer to completing our room at the Cape. We still need to get a dresser sanded and painted. Then add some additional things to the room. But we are pretty close to getting there.

We had a cookout for my Dad's birthday yesterday. I guess repeated advertising works because yesterday I picked up some Johnsonville Brats to have at the BBQ. I think I'll have to get the hang of cooking these, but they may become a favored dish for me.

Once more with Feeling

Allison gave me the Once more with Feeling Soundtrack to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode titled "Once more with Feeling" (obviously). I loved that episode and found it amazing that Joss Whedon wrote all the songs and also the music to each song. What I did not know was that the CD was produced and distributed by Rounder Records. Who cares about Rounder Records well, if you are a folk fan like Allison and I are then we care alot. Ellis Paul, Vance Gilbert, Allison Krauss, Natalie MacMaster and Slaid Cleaves are with Rounder. And Rounder is based in Cambridge, MA. Click the links above to check out the different CD's from each artist.

Also, yesterday was my father's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad! We'll be down the Cape this weekend to celebrate Dad's birthdya on with his new birthday outdoor grill.

Nigritude Ultramarine??

What is Nigritude Ultramarine? Well I guess one of the big search engines is doing a little experiment on how sites become top in their categories on a search engine. This is where Nigritude Ultramarine came from. It is a made up word and participants in this endeavor are supposed to create a site about it in hopes that their site becomes the foremost internet site for Nigritude Ultramarine.

The Transformers site that I go to called Seibertron is participating and to help him out I have posted the link. So if you follow the link his site will move up in the rankings I guess. Anyway it is interesting that a search engine is sponsoring this and I wanted to help Seibertron out.

Funway

Last night was boy's night at the Funway Cafe in Foxboro. We're trying out new places and the Funway Cafe is a place that most of us had not gone to before. Good food. Nice selction of beers. Plenty to do with pool tables, video games and of course Golden Tee. A fun time out with the boys.

The Entertainment Book came in handy too with a nice coupon, however I should have skipped the pizza all together and we would have made out even better on the deal. Oh well live and learn. If you don't have an Entertainment Book they are certainly well worth the purchase price.

Evelyn's Drive In

Today Allison and I went to Evelyn's Drive-In in Tiverton, RI. One very nice thing about living in New England and enjoying dining out is The Phantom Gourmet. The Phantom Gourmet is a great little show that showcases fine dining establishments all over the New England Region. And one of the dining establishments that they showcased a while ago was Evelyn's Drive-In.

Evelyn's Drive-In is a great place for seafood and atmosphere. Allison and I got the seafood Platter with Lobster meat. What a fantastic meal. There was a little sticker shock too, but all in all it was worth the trip and worth the price for lunch. The afternoon was beautiful and so was the meal. The service wasn't great but we got the ditz, not the efficient waitress. So I wouldn't say that our service detracted from our enjoyment too much.

Cape Weekend

This weekend Allison and went to the Cape. We did a 14 mile walk on Saturday and a six mile walk on Monday. Erik and I rode into Woods hole on Monday morning on our bikes too. On Sunday we cross trained by painting my grandparent's fence. We also got a chance to spend some time with Neil and Andrea for dinner and ice cream. And we had a BBQ with my family on Sunday night. Nice long weekend and great weather.
